Betsy Leinbach, MS, LCSWA

Betsy

Betsy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate through the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board. She graduated from the University of North Carolina Charlotte in 2019 with a Master of Arts in Social Work and from Goshen College in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies which focused on Sign Language, Elementary Education, and Communication. Betsy has experience providing individual and group support to elementary school students as well as adolescents ages 13 – 18 where she led them in exploring thoughts, attitudes, and ideas related to social/leadership skills, emotional regulation, crisis intervention, and bullying. She also has experience working with parents and families where she provided psychoeducation on social and emotional childhood development to caregivers and childcare providers. Betsy followed her work with individuals and families by completing an internship with the sexual trauma resource center where she provided group support for female victims/survivors of sexual abuse.

 

Betsy has gained experience providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing to adults, children, adolescents and families through her work in various therapeutic settings. Her relationship-focused clinical approach is heavily informed by her years providing supportive services to diverse populations, including supporting transitioning refugee families in Washington DC and group behavior modification to elementary school students in Western NC. She believes in the power of connection and meets each client with warmth while providing a safe place to wade through life’s challenges together.
