Janiece Jenkins is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of North Carolina and a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-CP) in the state of South Carolina. She graduated from Hampton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Print Journalism. Shortly after completing her undergraduate program, Janiece received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she also obtained a Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy and completed NC State requirements to become a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). Janiece is a Nationally Certified Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (TF-CBT). She has completed training in Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 Gottman Method Couples Therapy and is completing training requirements to become a Certified Gottman Therapist. Janiece also provides clinical supervision for providers who hold an Associate License with NC State Licensing Board and are working towards becoming fully licensed therapists.
Janiece has experience working with children and adolescents who suffer from symptoms related to Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Major Depression Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Anxiety Disorders, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Janiece also has experience working with couples where she has provided support in helping them to increase effective communication patterns, regain and/or improve intimacy, and overcome domestic barriers that create distance in behavioral interactions. Janiece provided outpatient therapy services to individuals from various socio-economic and cultural backgrounds, as well as in day treatment programs, outpatient facilities, private practices, and in various school settings. Janiece has exceptional problem-solving skills and demonstrates exceptional managing difficult, high-risk situations and/or crises.
Janiece has a passion for working with children, adolescents, couples, and families. Her therapeutic approach is centered around providing individuals the emotional and mental health support they need to make lasting, positive behavioral changes which will ensure their ability to manage stressors that occur throughout all seasons of life.
