Suraj Nagarji is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate through the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors. Suraj earned her Master of Clinical Psychology in 2015 from University of South Carolina Aiken. She also earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Auburn University in 2010- War Eagle!
Suraj has experience providing individual and group therapy to clients of all ages and backgrounds using Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and teaching social skills to individuals on the Autism Spectrum. Suraj has also worked closely with families rebuilding their communication, relationships, and trust with one another through Intensive In-Home Therapy. Suraj works with children, adolescents, teenagers, and adults who struggle with emotional regulation, social and general anxiety, trauma, and depression. She has a passion for helping people make day-to-day life more than just manageable, but also enjoyable.
Suraj is a wife, mother to 2 little girls, and first-generation American-born daughter of an immigrant Indian family. Suraj has first-hand experience with struggling between identities, cultural norms, and finding a balance between holding on and moving forward. Suraj is passionate about helping others in this position and being able to talk through a very unique set of experiences that immigrants and first-generation individuals face, addressing stigmas, and breaking through cycles of generational trauma.
